During the summer I really see no point on mounting on the slap, especially with extravagant eyes if its just going to slide off! My summer staple when it comes to summer is just a hint of mascara and a bright lip, Simple but effective! After wearing my fuchsia pink lipsticks to death last summer I was on the hunt for a pink with a little difference so I picked up 'Neon Pink' in the Body Shop's 'Colourglide' range. When I saw it  in the tube I was a little skeptical, but on the lips, it contrasts perfectly with my skin tone and has enough depth in the colour that it doesn't bridge the gap into 'tacky pink lips'. For £10, its not the most lasting lipstick and I do find myself having to reapply a few times during the day, but it is pretty moisturising so perfect for lips in need of a little TLC! Over the past few months I have turned to this lipstick again and again and has become a bit of a staple in my make-up bag. It is surprisingly versatile with outfits and looks amazing not only to brighten up a dark outfit, but also seems to work with pastels! I can't say The Body Shop is one of my favourite brands for make-up but this is defiantly a colour I can see myself re-purchasing in the future so brighten up those sometimes grey summer days!

Review | 17 Miracle Matte Foundation

17 Miracle Matte Foundation | Boots £5.99

Well for those who didn't already know, here in the UK, we have been having a bit of a heatwave. This burst of summer has actually left me with a Tan and a need for a new Matte and slightly darker foundation! In this heat pretty much everything melts off and any 'dewey finish' foundations are useless! Not wanting to spend a fortune on a new foundation (lets be honest, I'll not be this tanned again in a very long time) I headed to boots and picked up their '17' Miracle Matte foundation that boasts 'all day shine control', ' Oil free' and has an SPF 15!

Two things surprised me about this product. Firstly, It applied and blended very well with my skin, something that I don't usually expect from a drugstore foundation and secondly, It lasted a good 8hours on my skin without sliding off or cracking on my skin. 

I know by September, I'll be back to my milk white complexion, but for the time being, I am very much enjoying my flirtation with this foundation.

Tickets for 'BLAM!' and 'Andrew Lawrence' 

The Tents are up, the beer gardens filled and the tourists have flocked.... oh it must be festival time!

The Edinburgh Festival is one of the worlds largest events with the Fringe, International and book festival all rolled into over a month of mayhem. I love this time of year. Edinburgh's poetic streets come alive, come rain or shine, crawling with street performers and expectant tourists alike. 

Being a massive lover of the arts, comedy and literature, every year I am drawn to the capital to see what this years variety of playwright, performers and comedians have to offer. 

I have already seen a handful of shows and plan to write mini summaries/ reviews for everything I see 

BLAM! | Pleasance £13

This Danish physical comedy show is described as "when the office meets die hard". Not quite Sure what to make of this, I received comp. tickets to previews of this show so decided to give it a go. The show, made up of 4 office workers and an ever changing office space, is a bit slow to get into but one it takes off it really does quite literally take off! Very inventive and a little different to what I would usually go and see at the Festival... but I can never refuse Danish men!!

Andrew Lawrence - There Is No Escape | Pleasance £9.50

My first Stand up show this year came from 'slightly' well known comic Andrew Lawrence (BBC Comedy Roadshow and Live at the Apollo). I have never heard much of a buzz around this particular comedian at festival time, and got tickets on a whim with little thought or anticipation. The show lasted a little over 40mins and I would of liked a little more but I enjoyed his self deprecating performance none the less. I saw this particular show during previews so maybe with a larger audience, and a tad more confidence and finesse in the deliverance, Lawrence may be worth the money but I won't find myself rushing to book tickets to his next show.

Summer So Far | Update

Hello there!

It's almost August and where has the Summer gone!! Here in the UK, and most of Europe we have had a massive heatwave so a lot of my time has been spent out in the garden working on my sun tan and catching up with friends that I haven't seen while being away last year.

This next month I will be living in Edinburgh while I work at the Traverse Theatre over the Festival. I am already super excited about all the shows that are coming this year to this particular venue and depending on how busy I get (I will be working 6 day weeks) I plan to share as much of my 'festival festivities' with you guys.

This month I am also on a bit of a health kick. After a year away I have gained a few extra pounds that I feel now is the right time to shift so I'm eating super healthy and trying to work out as much as possible!

Motivational Mash Ups

As a runner I am constantly on the search for mash up to aid me in my workouts and long runs. For me,   the perfect mashup has to be upbeat, great bassline and filled with some of my favourite records. You can usually download some amazing ones free from SoundCloud. After gaining a few extra pounds on exchange, I am determined to get back into shape so have been on the search for the perfect workout tunes!!
